First time shooting

so i went up to sunset hills today. i was a little nervous being the first time ive gone to a range, and the first time ive ever shot a gun. my family is mostly anti-gun, so i was never really around them. and was sort of taught to be afraid of them, in a way... idk, but anyway...

im pretty sure dave was my instructor. really nice guy...

i shot a glock g17 9mm and a springfield xd 9mm, before i got a txt from a friend and had to go.

ran 12 rounds through the glock, and only 6 through the XD, and i have to say my first gun will be a glock. i like the way the trigger feels all the way through the pull, and though he said there was more kick on the glock, i felt it less.

heres my targets, the left is the Springfield... right is the Glock

i couldnt stop grinning on the drive home, everytime i looked over to the passenger seat and saw my targets :D

ill be taking a friend up there this sunday. so yea, im officially addicted, and cant wait till payday.

First off, welcome to the lifestyle; that of those who believe in defending one's self and those they care for!

Second, very nice grouping. What was the distance on those?

distance is a good question.... i dont know the actual distance, and forgot to ask, but it was 3 rafters after half way... so maybe someone here knows what half way is ?

it wasnt very far. but i also didnt have it against the paper.

ill be going back sunday and will be sure to mark all targets with range, TOD., pistol, ammo, AND instructor :P lol any other info i should get ?

sounds like maybe 10 yards, and those are pretty good for first time shooting a handgun

+1 on the Glock.

Nice grouping. Remind me NOT to break into your house.

Great grouping no matter the range. Oh yeah, you are now hooked. If you are married or a GF go ahead and tell her this will never wear off. She could be next.
