If you already have a good carry gun, I would go with the Bushy. Everybody needs at least one EBR.

I realize that the 10mm is a good cartridge, but downside is the availability and expense,I reload so I shoot quite a bit even 44 magnum, but my reloads cost about 2.50 to 3.00 a box 50 and I get free brass at my gun range,I have never seen 10 mm at my gun range on the ground in the 18 months I been going to this one.I guess if you can afford the ammo to stay proficient with it then go for it

Bingo!!! Since you don't have a rifle, I'd go for the AR. With the possibility of the AWB being reinstated, I just bought a second one (M4 configuration) and may buy a 3rd. In your case, the first one is a necessity.

Get the AR. You are set as far as pistols go (until after you get the AR).

I vote rifle also, although not necessarily a Bushmaster. There are some better options out there for only slightly more. Be sure to do your research before buying an AR - its a huge market and it takes all kinds. For the same price as a Bushmaster you could have a S&W or a Charles Daly - either would be better. For a few hundred dollars more you could have an LMT or a SDI - much better. Just my two cents...
