I use Blue Wonder, the scent is mild and it works great.

The linup so far...
Cleaning Only:
Clean, Lube, Protect:
After researching those recommendations, I realized there is one other thing that is important to me: I want it to be non-toxic. Of the items listed above, I am leaning towards these products (all of which are non-toxic):
So, now I have another question. The first two products above are cleaners only and would need to be combined with some kind of oil/protectant. The bottom two are 3-in-1 solutions, but I really wonder if they can clean as well as the cleaner-only products. So, if I ended up going with Weaponshield or M-Pro 7 CLP is that really all I would ever need to clean & maintain one of my weapons? Should I still plan to have a cleaning-only solution for my "deep cleaning" sessions? Or should I plan on using a two-stage clean-then-lube process every time I clean? Do you think I should start another thread for the above question? Thanks for all the posts so far! |

I use Rem-Oil to clean the tough stuff and MILITEC to lube and protect. Rem-Oil isn't bad and MILITEC has a very peculiar, but not bad, smell

You can use Dawn (dishwashing soap), a bit of elbow grease and hot water. Just make sure the parts are thoroughly dry and lubed. I use a hair blower to dry the parts then Rem Oil to protect. I do this quite often, with no problems at all.
Besides, it will keep your hands soft and clean!

hoppes#9 is what I use and it doesn't stink. What it does is bring back 40 years plus of beautiful memories.

On my glocks and other easy take down guns, I use HOT water and soap in the kitchen sink. Dry them good and lube them. The long guns and ones I can not wash, I clean in the garage / on the porch / in the basement / outside - any place that is open and I will not get yelled at.
