I then clean up with G96. Developed for ballistic missiles, it's kind of an old style CLP. It smells somewhat like bananas, but not strong. I spray it on, wipe it off after a minute or so, and then leave a thin film in the barrel and any friction areas.
If I'm concerned about a lot of friction and heat, I use Gunslick lubricant. It's anhydrous graphite in a suspension, and is more like a light grease. It works very well on 1911 frame rails. It was still present and working after rapid firing 150 rounds with 2 minute breaks every 50 rounds.
