Well
It had no selector switch, and was an open bolt design with absolutely no markings (s/n, maker, caliber). When it was handed to me I didn't know much other than it had belonged to his deceased buddy. After posting I stopped in at the gun shop and asked the gunsmith about how to identify the maker so and see if parts were available, he said that he would look at it and might have to confiscate it or I could call the Gentlemen I ended talking to directly.
By the way if any of yall with the federal agencies wonder why some of these guns stay on the streets, I had to get irate just to get past the gatekeeper who insisted that I had to call a number that told me that the Virginia facility does not take calls from the general public! ![]() But after finally talking with a field agent and meeting he and his partner at my house they were eager to get the information that I had about the weapon, and took it so that it could be sent to the afore mentioned facility in Virginia. I had really looked forward to having a project gun that my Father-in-Law and I could work on and play with, he has always wanted a Thompson, BUT an illegal weapon is not welcome in either of our houses. BikerRN I called them before I read your post, I guess that I am lucky they were not tools. The fact is they were very nice and said to call on their cell phone day or night if they could be of further assistance. ![]() I forget who mentioned that those of us with CHL's shouldn't associate with the sort of person that gave me the weapon; I am sorry that it offends you but I don't control who my company hires. ![]() Well I thank all of you for your advice and concern! Thanks, Searn |
