New Glock 27

hey all
I just bought a glock 27. I love my new glock. I got it because I love my g17.
Here is my concern, when I put 9 rounds in the mag it is pretty difficult to insert the mag into the gun. Also once the clip is in the gun it is more difficult to rack the slide than I have experienced in the past with glocks.
Can you all please tell me that this is normal or does it warent a call to glock. I figure there are enough people here with glocks to be a great deal of help.
I would also like to say that by new I mean that I have the gun for about a month and I have kept the mags full to capasity to try and free them up a little. It might have helped a very little bit, but it could also just be my mind playing tricks on me because I don't want any thing to be wrong
Thanks for the help

That was my first carry gun. Nice gun.

I had the same issue with the magazine. You just have to put one less round in and it will work just fine.

Congrats on your new purchase.

The parts will loosen up as you put rounds through it at the range. My G17 is still pretty tight, and difficult to load the magazines to capacity. My G19 was the same way, but now it's easy to operate after putting about 500 FMJ rounds through it.

My problem is not loading the mag I can do that just fine. Putting the mag into the gun is tough and then racking the slide can be tougher than i have ever dealt with. Also i have put around 300 rounds through the gun.
Thanks for the help.

By all means... Shoot that little bugger! And keep shooting it!

It'll loosen up when you get about 10,000 rounds down range!

J/K... It should loosen up. Try downloading one less round in the mag until the spring wears a bit.

It's just new and things are still kind of stiff!

BTW... Welcome to the forum!

Thanks for the help.
This is odd, since the height of the mag with one round, with 5 rounds, or with 9 rounds would be the same.

new glock

i had the same issues when i got mine.
i just put one in the pipe and 8 in mag.
takes care of loading mag. and racking
the slide. works great then.
hopefully you'll never need to use in
self defense but if you do, just pray there's
only 8 b.g.s .

You have this on most subcompact guns . they are
made with short mags to save space and will barely
hold the number of rounds they say will fit in it.

Ounce full of rounds the spring is compressed about as far
as it will go.
This is a problem because to insert the mag into the gun
the top round must be pushed down a little more.
Why is that?
Because the round on top must be sticking
up out of the mag so the slide can grab it and feed it into the chamber
and at this point the slide is over the top of the mag

this is also why it is hard for you to rack the slide
the spring is pushing up hard on the rounds

Because of this I never top off the spare mag I carry ,
I leave one round out some it will be EZ to insert

Why do I do this?

Because if I need to make a mag change under fire
with the slide CLOSED
it will "CLICK" into gun EZ,IE lock in and not fall out when
I need it the most.

As the spring weakens over time it will get better but it
will always be harder to insert a full mag

I hope this helps

Mine is the same way. Theoretically, you can have your spare mag full with nine rounds. If the gun functions correctly, then the slide should be held back after the last round of the previous mag. Then the new full mag goes in just as easily if there are 9 rounds or 0 rounds in it. Fingering the slide release lever scoops the first round into the pipe.

Also, I think in a shoot with a BG or 5, your addreniline will be pumping hard enough that it won't matter how hard it is to stick the mag in and rack the slide. I'd bet you could almost force it in backwards and still rack the slide if you were taking fire.
