I've never ran across a spot that couldnt be had with the skinny side of a nylon brush (it's about as thick as the area behind the extractor), but to get the stuff out... try to twist the end of a q-tip so it makes a longer, narrower point. For other spots, use the edge of a cleaning patch (fold it over if it's not rigid enough). Works for me.

Dishwasher. Next question please...

I'm with the crowd that tries to avoid jabbing picks and thingamabobbers (scientific term) in the nooks and crannies. Normally I use some sort of solvent spray for such duties.

The U.C.S. look like a good idea that I haven't seen. I sort of make my own using the wooden stir-sticks from the coffee shop. They are free, and I just shape and cut to fit the nook or cranny in need of scraping, toss when done. I also use wooden cooking skewers. Same thing-cut, sharpen, or chop off to make a blunt end, use with patch or without, then toss.

I just got an order of these last week and they work GREAT! They get in all the nooks and crannies.

How much do some of these ultra-sonic systems cost? I've been looking at them but nobody lists prices. I'm really hoping its not like a Ferrari dealership where if you have to ask..

I've seen small el-cheapos at Harbor Freight for about $50+, and have seen quite a few different sizes in Brownell's. They range from about $400 to $7K dependent on the size and "power". That reminds me I think I'm going to order a pistol size from Brownells.
