Rossi has some matched sets. They come with a .22, shotgun, and muzzle loader barrel.
I don't know of any other manufacturers that do this type of setup, but I would guess some others are out there.

Stock
Try fitting a flat, plain plastic butt pad to it and then fitting a thick rubber shotgun style pad. You can add over an inch that way to help the gun fit as he grows. Should cost less than $30 to do at the gunsmith or you can do it yourself at Brownells.

I got my boy the Henry Mini Bolt .22 before he was even born,, sounds crazy,, I know.....
It's just that I put a lot of thought and research into it and decided this was what I wanted to start him on,, and then I couldn't wait to get it and put it in the stash.... I looove going gun shopping,,, and this is one cool little rifle.... It will remain unfired untill his fifth birthday... |

I agree with all those that said the Rossi combo. We got my grandson started at an early age with a Rossi .22/.410 combo. After a few weeks he was able to destroy the center of a 50 yard bullseye with the .22 barrel, and a bit more practice could hit straight away clays with the .410. These are great starter guns. If Jake (my grandson) would give it up, I would take the little Rossi in the compact storage bag and keep it as a stashed away truck gun. Good little shooters, and inexpensive.

A first long arm for my boy
"I've been chewing over the idea of getting my boy his first long arm." How long do you want it to be? ![]() ![]() |

On a serious note if you can find a Weatherby XXII - that is one beautiful rifle.
Probably THE most accurate .22 rifle. $$$ Though but, a worthwhile investment. ![]() |
