Ahaha - I seem to remember a mention of that Cadet previously - it piques my interest. Any pic Betty, but don't worry if not.
And the Luger - nice - does it have a good barrel? The only ones I have seen close up were all but shot out, re the rifling.
Here's some pictures. The barrel still looks really good in the Luger. The upper has all matching serial numbers and is dated 1914, but the frame has a different serial number. It's a fun shooting gun.

Thx for the pics Betty - I do actually remember seeing them before now you show them - poor memory!

Great pieces to own - history oozing from them.

Usually 70's Yugo or Romanian surplus. My gas port is at 7'oclock position. It' a crowd gatherer at the range. Loud and robust!
Be certain to clean soon after using the corrosive surplus.

New gun

I just brought a Mosin-Nagant M44 at a gun show. It was in super shape and great price.

No kidding. I picked up an 1891/30 on a whim, liked it okay, got the M44, liked it much better, now I want the M38.

At least I am not so addicted that I want to get all the different arsenal markings and receivers, etc.

They are fun though... probably the most rugged rifles I own. Not the most user friendly mind you, but rugged.

Looking at Bettys P-38 brings back memories...

Many moons ago in a different life, I aquired a P-38 pistol that was dropped in Afgannistsan shortly after it was invaded by the Russians back in 80.

Other than most of the finish being worn off it was in exellent mechanical condition. It had Nazi markings all over it.Unfortunatley, some punk on the aircraft carrier that I was on at the time decided he needed it more than me and stole it. Still pisses me off every time I think about it. Probably traded it off for beer or something...

I used to have a bunch of C&R/Milsurp firearms. Now I'm down to 2 a FR-8 and a CZ-52.
Though I'm going to get a Soviet M-44 from a friend who needs some cash for a different gun in a couple of weeks.
