How's this for a fired case?!!!

One of the guys at the shoot this afternoon was enjoying throwing lead thru his old Mossin - M44 IIRC - anyways he had a can of VERY mixed 7.62x54R - all sorts!!!

This one came out after a seemingly normal feeling shot but hey - look at this case (a steel one) - I have seen head sep's and other things but never this degree of splitting apart!!!

I had a round go through my Mosin Nagant that cracked like that. It was old military ammo that i got for almost nothing at a gunshow! I cleaned the rifle really well and it has fired well since then, but i got rid of most of that older looking ammo.

That's Very Weird

I've never seen any case actually "fracture" quite like that. And a steel case to boot?

I'd be checking the weapon too, just in case.
