P22 saga continues

Ok........so it's not the P22, but what the heck. I went back to the Store.. plunked down the Walther with paperwork, and got another itme in return..
A High Standard Model 107 Supermatic Citation Military Model 5.5 inch BBL.........got it for 295.00
Checked out GA and they're selling for a lot more than that for sure..
I found, thru inventory , the gun had been sitting since 5/00 without a buyer.(it was priced at 395.00 in 2000)....They had recently marked it down from 395.00 to 295.00 to move it, as nobody wanted it/ wasn't generating interest.. sooooooooo I thought, "why not" what do i have to lose? I can always bring it back if it has serious issues like the Walther. ..Besides.......Steve (my son) took a real shine to it, after picking the brains of a couple of my Co-workers/cohorts.. To Steve, in his mind, it was either the Ruger KMK 512......or this High Standard.. He thought the Citation was a better investment on a target grade gun. Just a couple of guides to go on in prices

DAMN Bob and double DAMN! Man have you ever got a keeper there! Sheesh - to use an English word - man was that ever ''jammy'' LOL!

The Citation was back in my bullseye 22 days up top of the league - and still is I'd say. I had a Walther GSP for my 22 target and that was pretty ''up there'' too.

I forget mag capacity now on Hi-Standard - may be only 5 which is only a prob if shooting pins and stuff.

Heck - put into current values, re what it was - this is a $500 plus gun. Has to be.

Congrats dude - you have snagged what should be a diamond, as long as mechanics all good.

I shall expect (mandated) a full report from you or Steve - or both

LOL............Steve picked it out, by process of elimination......... the Citation has a 9- 10 round cap in the mag... He looked at the 22/45 (249.95) and thought about the stainless MkII Ruger as well (it was 285.00 as new in box....less 10% retails here for 389.95) He then looked at the Buckmark..(250.00 used).....passed on it........then looked at the High Standard Citation (as he likes the feel of the ergonomics of the 1911 grip (as is the 22/45 and the Citation Military).
he chose the HS cuz of the 100.00 off Used gun price of 395.00 LOL.........said he can always make his $$ back......or just hang on to it and shoot the Jimminies out of it......... He says "Dad, I can't wait to shoot this" He wanted to go shoot it right after we came home LOL. loves the look and feel of it so far.. LOL......
Gun was made mid to late 70s....and discontinued in 1981.. Hope it shoots as good as it looks.............about 90% finish on the gun.. and we have plenty of mags in stock.. LOL ( I scrounged them up too)

Talk about trading up. The Hi standard is a great semi. built beautifully and should last a long time. Only disadvantage may be the sights.
