Mrs. issued her CHL and new guns to boot

My wife just got the web-enabled notice her CHL is in the mail! Yea! No more whinning from HER! We mailed our applications the same day, but I got mine a month ago. Go figure.

She's actually a great keeper - 30 years plus - and when a gun follows me home - if another for her shows up - big smile! LOL! She likes guns and duct tape - a fella my age couldn't ask for more. And, she really doesn't whine - ever.

We also jumped and bought two new semi's yesterday: A black Skyy CPX-1 and a two tone CPX-1. Got a great deal on them. We both have reservations about them and the company, but we both wanted pocket pistols for the summer months here in Texas. The 9mm matches our Glocks (hers a 26, mine a 17) so I don't have to search around for the correct ammo. Thought about the other suspects for this category (Kahr PM9, Kel-Tec and Rohrbaugh), but these were just too nice to pass up, and at the really right price. Time and range testing will tell if that was a good, bad, or just goofy decision. Neither of us will CC them until the confidence is 100%.

I'll post more info on the performance of the Skyy's as available, and maybe some pics too - even though they're not 1911's, and darn near as ugly as our Glocks!

Thumbs up Another Nail in the Coffin of Unpoliced Crime

Congrats to both Mrs. & Mr. Rock & Glock on receiving your Texas CHL's.

I wish everyone in this great state of Texas, that is eligible, would get their CHL's and send a message to the criminals, that we are making the safety and security of our lives a personal matter and that they should all go to the states that deny their legal population the means of legal self defense.

Or Would That Be:

Mrs. Rock&Glock?

Regardless, Congrats to her & to you for having such a great "card carrying" Firearm Equipped Wife.
My hope that you all will stay safe & happy!

Hmmm - just wondering where the duct tape fits in

I too am itching to hear feedback on a Skyy - I now know of two or three folks who have picked one up - now it's time for the acid test, to see if they perform.

Range report - maybe later. Too tired tonight. 80 pounds of Doberman afraid of thunder camped out last night between me and the Mrs. Doberman slept good. We didn't.

Short report: 75 rounds 115 gr. FMJ CCI Blazer through each: Perfect feeding and firing. After that, got tired, gunk started building, limp wristed a couple. Quit.

Ready for a Skyy or two, on the rocks.
