Hmmm - quite a heavy (35 ounce?) N Frame - 1951 thru 1966. Cal 45acp.
Seems some later models were higher val than original pre production ones even. It was a 5 screw initially. Never shot one but - could well be a very nice gun for general shooting. Get the impression that a good one could be worth a grand!

I cant tell from the pic but if they still have the Mag release in the front strap of the grip and you got large fingers avoid it ..
Since they have a Mag disconnect if you barely touch the release it trips it and gun wont fire... Now if they changed the release location disregard what i said |

Ihave the 22A and shoot it alot. Up to this point it has handled every type of ammo I've put thru it with no problem. It does have the mag release on the front of the grip but has never been a problem as on this one any way you have to push it all the way in to release mag. I got it for the same reason you are looking at one marine and have really enjoyed it.

Sorry cnc - I am always guilty of thinking back to the old Smiths and forgetting what is there as new stuff! Oops!
