Have fun and prepare yourself to dive into a new hobby. I have yet to take anyone to the range that did not have a great time.
The notion of coffee and muffins is a good one. You may have to consume in your car or whatever since food and drink may not be allowed on the firing line.

2. Have Fun
3. Shoot Well
4. Let us know how it went.

P.S. Don't drink too much caffeine before you shoot. It can affect your groups.

Ah, thanks. I don't drink coffee anyhow, I was just going to bring it for the guys.

Thanks, everyone. I'll be sure to post all about it after I get back tomorrow!

Purchase some good hearing protectors and safety glasses so you don't need to use any loaners at the range. I took my dad to the range and the hearing protectors there were lousy (quite uncomfortable)! I own my own set, but my dad said his set was really uncomfortable.

So then I went and bought a new pair for him from amazon.com -- problem solved!

Very good advice all around. One thing I always do is wear a baseball cap. I started wearing one ever since a stray casing found its way behind my safety glasses. Ouch!!!

enjoy!!!
