What is the Centerfire Equivalent to the .22LR Cartridge? - Page 3

The last centerfire I've heard of that comes close to .22 long rifle was the Winchester .25-20.(standard load was around 1450fps with an 80 grn bullet) It should do what you want, but finding ammo, rifles or cases would be a problem. The rim fire ammo would be much cheaper

But then youve got the time factor, so yes .22LR is the way to go, and if youre gun can shoot the cheap stuff (ie not CCI) then even better.

Another option is a high power .22 air rifle, even cheaper again.

We can buy Federal brand new 9mm at Walmart for $9.97US, but a box at a gun shop will run around $20. A Federal brand value pack of .22LR is only $15.95US for 550 rounds.

You guys are getting robbed on the .22LR.
