The company I used to work for would have fired my butt in a heart beat if they ever knew I visited THIS forum!
![]() I can neither confirm or deny that I ever visited www.defensivecarry.com while using the company owned computer of my former employer! ![]()

M view is that an employee is hired to work for a certain number of hours, and work does not include browsing on the computer. If I had an employee who was looking at gun sites instead of working I would fire him after one warning.

In my case, I was working in a clinic in Walgreens. We were seeing 1-4 patents per 12 hour shift. Can you say bored out of our minds? I would have loved to have ben busy seeing patients. They just weren't there, and there was nothing else work related for me to do.

OTOH, Planco's policy says employees may not visit "inappropriate" web sites. So, they do permit employees to visit "appropriate" web sites, using company equipment & bandwidth . More to the point, they acknowledge that the company had "legitimate concerns about employee safety" because "Jackson, an admitted gun enthusiast who owns a sizable gun collection, including an Uzi" -- which IMHO is a whole different matter, ![]()

Wrongful termination lawsuits are rarely won by the dismissed employee. A corporation has a vast amount of resources at their disposal, and the average employee has neither the time nor resources to pursue litigation. Most corporations use "at will" employment; your there at your will and at their will. You can leave any time you like, and they can dismiss you any time they like.
