| Defensive Knives & Other Weapons Most people that carry a gun also carry a knife or other weapon as a backup. Finding a good blade is often harder than finding a good pistol or revolver. |

THE English subjects will get enough of being ruled one of these days and standup for themselves. if they don't all leave the country first. These people are over taxed under represented and over regulated.

The UK refuses to stop being mired in tradition. The Queen and monarchy is a part of history and tradition, something that most forthright countries cast off many years ago. Australia came close, we held a referendum 10 years ago which failed. Why do they refuse to give firearms to police? Because they think it would make the traditionally unarme "Bobby Peeler" less approachable.
This style of thinking comes from a time when beat cops walked the streets in their helmets and didn't have to contend with heavily armed "yardie" gangs, meth, heroin and crack users, and a society so enamoured of getting absolutely slaughtered every Saturday night that it's a virtual free for all in city squares. The reality is, the world is no longer a safe place. The UK police need to accept it and respond appropriately and immediately. As for a person coming to their aid; if I were a UK police officer, considering the UK's bladed weapon in public laws, would be interested to know why he had a samurai sword immediately accessible, I'd suggest that this one should be put in the 'officer discretion' category.
