| Defensive Knives & Other Weapons Most people that carry a gun also carry a knife or other weapon as a backup. Finding a good blade is often harder than finding a good pistol or revolver. |

Knife Scrimshaw - A Great Artist
This guy is a great scrimshaw artist. - Bob Hergert - He is SO talented!
Check out all the photos of his work on his site & not just the knife pics. The link to his web site is below the photo. Take the time to click on the larger & more detailed versions of the smaller photo thumbnails. The ultra-fine detail is downright amazing! He would probably be the guy that I would contact when I was ready to have that "one of a kind" custom ivory handled folder made for me. High quality scrimshaw work is very expensive though...but it sure it sure would be worth it to carry a really unique and beautiful "hand scrimshawed" art knife. ![]() Click Here To See GREAT Scrimmed Knives

there is a whole bunch of these guys hiding out there.
Alot of their stuff is never seen by the general public. I've seen a whole bunch of beautiful work done on powder horns, and most of the folks that see this work end up being reenactors (Either F&I or Rev War).

Wow! That is some really nice work. My peewny collection of factory knives pale in comparison to the beauty of handmade craftsmanship.

Hi Betty
Your collection of "Sharp & Pointy Things" is pretty doggone nice.
This guy does scrimshaw on some "seriously expensive" custom knives. and then he charges by the square inch for the scrim work...but, there must be at least 5,000 little tiny dots per square inch so I guess he earns his money. In migraine headaches for sure! ![]()
