| Defensive Knives & Other Weapons Most people that carry a gun also carry a knife or other weapon as a backup. Finding a good blade is often harder than finding a good pistol or revolver. |

Armed
To quote Mr. Musketeer's rule #1.
The only time to fight unarmed is when you're naked and the furniture is bolted down. |

I did actually once use a Sunday newspaper, fresh out of the vending machine, to swat a BG in the face, knocking him to the ground as he rode up on a bicycle. He was trying the snatch the gold chain from my neck. The hard smack in the face and resultant crash dissuaded him from trying anything more. Maybe we should all start carrying a concealed newspaper !

Not sure which of his books that's in but I'm pretty sure it is one of the Hammer's Slammer's ones.

For those of us who train in Muay Thai we carry 8 weapons that are apart of our body. Hands, Elbows, Knees, Feet then you add in whats attached to your belt and have roughly around 10 or more.
I like the above quote though. ![]()

I have a very lovely steel t-square that could cause some damage.

If you are interested, you should look to get in an Improvised Weapons class with Steve Tarani or similar good instructor. Some friends of mine just took a class and I got a quick demonstration on how to be disarmed with a cheap Wally World hawiian shirt that I am still trying to digest.
http://www.garrykravit.com/images/ImpWea.wmv A somewhat funny video but shows enough Steve is also an instructor for the Karambit and allegdly so good that I heard more than one guy say that the only way they would attack him would be with a scoped rifle at 200 yards.

Musketeer's first rule of unarmed combat:
The only time we fight unarmed is when naked and all the furniture is bolted to the floor. Edit: Just noticed my old friend Superhouse15 beat me here! I also like the mention of the David Drake quote. I am half way through the Hammer's Slammers Compilation Volume 2 right now. I already read them all before (except for the newbies added for the hardcover compilation). Last edited by Musketeer; September 6th, 2007 at 11:14 AM. Reason: saw an earlier post |
