| Defensive Knives & Other Weapons Most people that carry a gun also carry a knife or other weapon as a backup. Finding a good blade is often harder than finding a good pistol or revolver. |

Not my personal preference in a style of knife (I'm very old school on knives) but, it appears to be quite well constructed.
A good solid looking knife. They also put a lot of obvious effort into the sheath design but that just seems to be almost too much sheath for that size knife. I think just a simple belt clip might have been better on the sheath rather than the Kydex holster type belt loops which seem a bit excessive. I'll reserve judgment though since I have never seen one like it first hand.

Addressing the knife itself, I have one of these with the ankle holster but have not carried it yet though because my backup handgun is ankle carry which leaves no room for the knife

So I was looking for something else "dark" to reflect the seasonal mood but also "feminine." It took me about three hours to change this gal's hair (btw, she's the main character of the Anita Blake novels (she's a vampire hunter and necromancer (appropriate for the season I think))), but it's done and it's my avatar for now. I like making avatars so it's all good!

Not meaning to get off topic, but how about a collapsible baton? No idea about legality where you are, but personally, if I couldn't bring a firearm, I'd rather bring a baton to a knife fight.

The VA Code doesn't mention batons (collapsible or solid).
It does mention spring sticks or any weapon of like kind . This is the definition: "Spring stick" means a spring-loaded metal stick activated by pushing a button which rapidly and forcefully telescopes the weapon to several times its original length. Spring sticks cannot be concealed.

Batons are a whole 'nother animal.
Good knife Limatunes. I've been meaning to pick one up for a while, but it'd be re-learning knife use all over again for me (not a bad thing; haven't trained with knives in a couple years anyway). The TDI looks and feels as tough as Ka-Bar's more popular full-sized knife, which is always reassuring. Just to get a feel for the knife, try stopping by the grocery store and picking up some extra tough slabs of meat. You'll be looked at funny for asking the question, but it'll be worth it. Put 'em on a wooden board when back at home and just... stab them. Cut them. Get a feel for the knife moving through some kind of median. Congrats on your purchase. ![]() -B |

If anyone cares LAPolicegear.com has a coupon code for TDI knives.
I got a coupon from there for $5 of TDi through Dec 31. Code is: KBTDI I'm thinking of getting one. What I'm assuming is you think it's a good knife? |
