Defensive Knives & Other Weapons Most people that carry a gun also carry a knife or other weapon as a backup. Finding a good blade is often harder than finding a good pistol or revolver.

Kershaw NRG ?

I did not find anything with a search so I thought I would ask. Anyone tried this knife? Kershaw NRG (pronounced Energy) in the 3.5" blade.

http://www.knifecenter.com/kc_new/st....html?s=KS1745

I am looking for a new EDC knife and this one caught my eye. The changable clip (either side or either end) really looks good to a lefty. I have never handled one and hate to buy sight un seen but I might have to. Just looking for some input.

Kershaw makes great EDC knives, very sharp! I love my Kershaw Leek.

I'm sure thats a nice knife if it fits your bill.

Another vote for the Kershaw Leek (Ken Onion assisted opener)...
not sure what the...NRG's...patented "pseunetic®" opening feature is, but the Leek can easily be opened or closed with one hand!

Stay armed...stay sharp...stay safe!

The flexability of the clip is a magor plus for me but I would sure like to handle one first.

Here is a video of the way it opens up.

That's exactly like the Leek...and it works very well. After a little practice, it's open 3" from the pocket, and it's as easy to close with one hand.
Note: When practicing the one handed closing, you may need a box of Band-Aids available before becoming proficient...those Kershaws are definitely sharp!

Stay armed...stay sharp...stay safe!

Looks like a good price on the NRG here http://www.shootersmart.com/site/ind...ay&pid=KER1740
Don't know anything about them though. $47.80

Just wanted to add, I had a Myerco years ago with the flipper and I think I prefer that to my "assisted" Kershaws and thumbstud Benchmades.
I think I need to get one of these "NRGs"
