Defensive Knives & Other Weapons Most people that carry a gun also carry a knife or other weapon as a backup. Finding a good blade is often harder than finding a good pistol or revolver.

My Newest Purchase!

As my profile says, I live in PRIL so I obviously can't have a carry permit. I am a paramedic in a kind of rough town with a lot of drugs, low income, and all the social problems that go with that. I now have a little bit of protection.
KA-BAR Knives: KABAR TDI Law Enforcement Knife, Serrated, KA-1481

I love it. Small enough to not draw a lot of attention on my belt, but carried all the time and ready to go if shtf. Love the pistol grip style. A lot of gross motor skills that will still be around in a stressful situation. Hope to never use it but if I have to I am glad I have it.

It's a shame the bad guys have you honest IL guys outgunned. Maybe someday the Daly regime will either realize the issues or be gone!

I carry one of these, too, but with the plain edge.

Limatunes posted a good review of the KA-BAR TDI here:

I've posted this before, but I really like the TDI knife. I was given one of the first ones by the man who designed them, I carry it often.

It would be worth a road trip to take one of his classes to really learn how to use that knife.

Good purchase, one of those little knives is on my list of things to buy. More knife fighting training like SIXTO suggested is always a good idea too.
