Knives & Other Weapons Most people that carry concealed also carry a knife or other weapon as a backup. Finding a good blade is often harder than finding a good pistol or revolver.

I hate knives!!! a BG with fmj punches a 1/4 hole in you or a knife and makes you look like swiss cheese!! These pics make it easy not to think to long should you see a blade. Draw and fire, repeat!!!

I was told the best way to deal with a knife attacker advancing on you is with a pelvis shot. Even a 9mm +p round to the hip will break it, which is supposed to drop the dirtbag like a sack of wet laundry. This removes the delivery mechanism for the weapon, and will probably look a lot better in front of the grand jury, too. Just a thought.
Good thing haven't eaten recently.

I wouldn't trust my life with that.

The 'best way' is going to be determined by the situation at the time. How far away is the assailant? How fast is he advancing on you? Is he even advancing? Results of the Tueller drill are telling. Training in a system with heavy blade use also is an eye opener.

Sorry Urban Legend. Center of Mass is always the target. That folks have the time and skill to shoot guns out of the perps hand or incapacitate by shooting their limbs is unreasonable. Trying to do so in the real world will get you killed. In a life or death shooting hitting center of mass is excellent shooting. Sadly enough people believe those John Wayne myths that one of my bros did seven and a half years because after he was shot he did not shoot the gun out of a guys hand.
When it was all said and done he was happy to do the time it beat the hell out of the alternative.

Im going 45acp COM untill the attacker is down for the count. I don't care what a grand jurry thinks, maybe the jury will see this then they would know why I did what I had to do.

Don't know if it's true or not, but I have heard that a surprising amount of shootings where both parties are armed can end up with one of the parties hitting one of the weapons...They told me it was because it the BG has a gun, it's what you are most likely looking at, therefore if you resort to point shooting, that's the spot you are more likely to hit.
