Knives & Other Weapons Most people that carry concealed also carry a knife or other weapon as a backup. Finding a good blade is often harder than finding a good pistol or revolver.

PDF of "contact weapon" injuries

Chris Fry at M.D.T.S. put together this PDF consisting of photos of various "contact weapon" (knife, axe, etc.) injuries. Should provide a pretty good reality check to those who underestimate the damage that can be done with such a weapon.

WARNING! these photos are extremely graphic, don't gripe at me if they upset your stomach or offend your delicate sensibilities.

Thanks. I think I'll skip breakfast now. This is why I carry a gun. Edged weapons can be very messy.

Good reason to carry.

Ouch. Though I must say the pic of the man with his wrists and throat slashed looked very fake, to me...

About 10 years ago I was working for an oilfield service company doing business worldwide. We happened to be in Columbia and were traveling through the jungle and actually watched a man being hacked to death by two guys, according to our driver, that were from the Drug Cartel, using machete's. I have never looked at machete's the same way since. Like so many of you....another reason that I carry concealed.

Brings new meaning to getting to the meat of the subject.

Gruesome, but educational. Great reminder of the power of a simple blade.
