Knives & Other Weapons Most people that carry concealed also carry a knife or other weapon as a backup. Finding a good blade is often harder than finding a good pistol or revolver.

I have three...the TDI, the TDI trainer (red handle no edge on the blade), and the large size TDI with a MOLLE compliant holster.
They are great.

I carry the standard size TDI at 11 and can grasp it to deploy with either hand, strong or weak. I only wish this had existed decades ago.
It is for me far more convenient to carry and conceal on my person than any folder I've ever had. My only comment would be that the handle could get slick if it were wet or had blood on it. That though can be resolved with some grip tape wrapped around the handle.

IMHO a good value and if I were a LEO who had any street level interactions I would not leave home without one.

It would be really nice if you could actually change out the handle scales on this knife to different style grips, as far as roughness and what not. I suppose I could make my own, but it would be nice to see a set made out of canvas micarta with a pattern in them. Just my opinion, but otherwise it really is such a great and concealable knife especially for the price.

re: the smooth handles...just do what I did and stipple/groove them up with an $8 soldering-iron from Radio Shack. It's a 15 minute job and really improves the grip. (can't post a pic, my camera is down)

If you can, I suggest you take the class taught by the man who made the knife. Its worth every penny, and he is a heck of a nice guy to boot.
I did! And I also saw it before it was released to the public. Probably why I own one.

sorry, my digital-camera took a dump on me a couple of months ago and I haven't gotten around to replacing it.

Basically, once the iron was hot, I just did a checker-board type pattern (the lines are about 1/8-1/4" apart).

Got one, like it.

I've carried one, the original design, for several years now. Wish I had one available a decade ago.

I wear mine on my off side, just outboard of my belt buckle.

Someone I train with has one of those. It felt pretty good, but because of my karambit training, I'd tend to carry it in such a way as to allow a reverse-grip presentation when drawing it.

The Emerson karambit with the wave opening is great, but WAY too expensive. I have a cheap knockoff that works almost as well, and fills my hand nicely.

Very nice. Now you've got me thinking that it would be a good idea for me to get one! Thanks and enjoy the knife!

Can this knife/sheath be carrie in a horizontal position? It would be very handy to be carried on the front of the belt, just left of the buckle.
