Knives & Other Weapons Most people that carry concealed also carry a knife or other weapon as a backup. Finding a good blade is often harder than finding a good pistol or revolver.

That is a nice blade, indeed!

I have been wanting a larger folder and that is the one I have my eye on.

I have two Kershaw's...
Both are Ken Onion assisted openers...great knives. You can get one for about $50-75...opens and closes EASILY, with one hand.

Here's another vote for the Kershaw's. I've got a Chive and Baby Boa. Shop around and you can find some good deals out there.

Cool Two Thumbs up on Kershaw!

I bought a 1550 many years ago, and proceeded to drop it onto a concrete floor after carrying it for about 3 years. The impact of the fall broke the spring that assists the opening of the knife. One phone call and a few days later, I received three replacement springs free of charge.

Two years later I managed to break the tip off the blade, another phone call, they asked that I ship it to them to evaluate. Two weeks later I received a brand new knife absolutely free.

Two thumbs up for Kershaw!

I'll echo the SOG Trident. The SOG Flash II is also handy. I find both are a little thicker in the handle than some other folders. That's nice for filling your grip, but a little bulge-heavy if you're trying to be discrete. Both are AUS-8 steel. I've carried em both for about 4 years. My only complaint is the slightly dubious safety that I can't really get a good tactile feel for.

I have this one that works very well. It is a Colt M-16-K. I can't vouch for this site but I don't have any pics of mine to post.

I agree. I've carried the 1550ST for several years now.

I have had pretty good luck with my SOG Meridian -- except when it flipped open in my pocket, and when that happens, one must be very careful.

Talking Happy St. Patty's Day!!

I have been waiting to post here since I have joined--I collect knives, so I will throw in my .02.

My carry blade on detail is a Blackhawk Crucible Folder--I have the fixed blade version or a Benchmade CSK typically on my MOLLE rig. I could fill up a page on all my other beauties.

I will say I have several Extrema Ratio--though pricey for civilians--great knives--check out their Light Folders...

Happy St Patty's!!
