Knives & Other Weapons Most people that carry concealed also carry a knife or other weapon as a backup. Finding a good blade is often harder than finding a good pistol or revolver.

I looked at the Flash II, but it was far too large and heavy for me to. I settled on the SOG Blink, it's a cute little knife with a wicked sharp blade.

+1 on the kershaw leek.

my wife works in the medical field and carries one. it is super configurable. she can change the position of the belt clip so that she can draw and deploy it quicky.

Because insurance is a sunk cost.

They already pay for it and thus, if an employee is injured, it is covered on the policy and additional cash outlay is not necessary.

Hiring a guard costs money that appears on the balance sheet as a cost without tangible return.

Good security produces an ABSENCE of incidents, not effectively handled incidents; thus, a catch 22.

If you have good security you have few or no incidents; if you have few or no incidents, you do not need security.

Some thoughts

Ladies with knives are stereo typed as being incompetent with them. Unlike a guy with a knife, an attacker is less likely to be intimidated by a knife wielding female. So if a woman is going to carry a knife, there is an added burden of knowing how to use and retain it.

As for discretion, kershaw makes a number of speed folders that appear rather benign when clipped in a pocket.

Also, she may consider CCW with a taser pistol. I for one don't have one for lack of money, but it seems like a great defense weapon that would be just as intimidating coming from a woman as a man. If it's an option, I'd much rather face a mugger with a taser (15 foot range) than a pocket knife (contact range). That and there is less paper work.

A final note. Just remember
