Knives & Other Weapons Most people that carry concealed also carry a knife or other weapon as a backup. Finding a good blade is often harder than finding a good pistol or revolver.

OC/CS/MACE ? harmfull to pregneant women?

Ok not that I really care about this ladys problem, but last night a person who claims she was pregneant got a healthy dose of OC/cs/mace/dye combo spray, I started thinking about that. Is there any evidence that OC/cs/mace causes birth defects? I remember when I took my advanced course at Ft. Riley females who were having their periods were exempt from the CS tent, didnt make sense to me, but I never gave it much concern. Now I am wondering anyone know of any Proven side effects, or for that matter why the females were exempt from the old CS tent back in the 80's-90's. Are they still exempted? if so is there a medical reason?

I wouldn't imagine OC would cause any problems as it's a natural substance (cayenne IIRC).

I wouldn't venture a guess on the CS.

Just like the topic of shooting and pregnancy, you won't find a valid study. I venture to guess it must be hard to find a test group of pregnant women who are possibly? willing to harm their unborn.

I don't see OC being harmful but I say avoid it (and shooting) at all costs if pregnant.
