Knives & Other Weapons Most people that carry concealed also carry a knife or other weapon as a backup. Finding a good blade is often harder than finding a good pistol or revolver.

Fixed blades that you CC as a backup

In the question of carrying a fixed blade knife as a backup to your primary arm, what blades do you guys carry and/or recommend, and what rig do you use to carry it in?

I don't carry a fixed blade all the time, but when I do, it's my Bud Nealy Tung Pan. I've only had it for a few weeks now, but really like it. Nealy's patented MCS carry system is flexible and well designed.

MCS link ...... Bud Nealy Knifemaker: Custom, MCS System and MASS System Knives for self protection, sports and kitchenware, using the finest materials available.

K-bar TDI, fullsize.

I've also been known to carry double edged boot knives either in the boot (slow) or on the waist.

I don't carry fixed blades much, but when I do, it's either a TOPS UTE II, which appears to be discontinued because I didn't see it on their website. There are a lot of other nice smaller fixed blade on their site, and they have belt clip/neck carry options. I personally don't like the neck carry option because it tends to slide around.

The other fixed blade knife I will carry is the MOD Razorback on belt clip.

If you want something inexpensive, a CRKT Stiff KISS with a cord-wrapped handle would work nicely.

Better it in an evidence bag than me in a body bag!

Real similar to the cave bear.....just a little different blade profile. I was going to get a cave bear until I talked to Bud's wife Toni. She told me about this one and the beautiful burl scales. Gotta say, she was right!
