Defensive Knives & Other Weapons Most people that carry a gun also carry a knife or other weapon as a backup. Finding a good blade is often harder than finding a good pistol or revolver.

Just picked up one of the Cold Steel Blackthorns for $45 at the gun show today. If it hadn't been for this thread I wouldn't have given it a second look. (Also got an M1 Garand, but that'll be another thread after I take some pictures.)

It'll be handy for my nightly walks around the neighborhood. Not real wood, but should be durable and sufficient for the task. Never know when a killer rabbit might attack . . .

I got one of the new Cold Steel plastic ones -- wanted a real one, but didn't have the earlier link in this thread.... anyway, the Cold Steel thing is big and fat. Would definitely make a formidable club.
May go ahead and get a real one, but the Cold Steel I don't really have to care about, it does seem absolutely unbreakable.

Cool

I ordered my Irish Blackthorn Pug Ugly Walking Stick yesterday. Her name is 'Finnegan's Wake'. Can hardly wait till she gets here.

P7Fanatic. The Guy who sang this song (Finnegan's Wake) died the other day in Ireland. I remember singing that song many a day in the bars in Ireland. You choose a good name for your stick. His name was Ronnie Drew of "The Dubliners". Google it.

Sorry to hear that. I was a fan. Always wanted a beard like Ronnie Drew's.
