Defensive Knives & Other Weapons Most people that carry a gun also carry a knife or other weapon as a backup. Finding a good blade is often harder than finding a good pistol or revolver.

Sabre Pepper Spray

I bought my girlfriend some Sabre #P-22. The guys at my local gunstore said its what they all carry. Its supposed to shoot 8-13ft. I'm thinking about buying two more, one for my mom and the other to test and then keep for myself. Its supposed to have thirty five bursts. Just wanted some input and yes i've already told her if she doesn't have it on her, then theres no point in me buying it. Lately, shes had some perves outside of her work as we're college students and she works at the tanning bed on campus, which was my reason for buying. I also thought if I bought this, she could carry it for the next eight months until she turns 21. My other question is can she carry this in places that doesn't permit firearms and knives.

Sabre is fine.

concealed is concealed.

Whether she can carry weapons or not, I'd encourage her (and everyone else for that matter) to get some good h2h/combatives training and maybe some knife/short impact-weapon stuff as well. I wouldn't want to have to rely on OC as my only force option.

If you carry in Condition 3, you have two empty chambers. One in the weapon...the other between your ears.

The only Sabre that I have experience with was my issued sabre, and I can tell you from personal experience that it does not feel good in the eyes, mouth, nose, etc. It's great on tacos though! She should be fine.

I got online and read. Everyone said test it out, so I did. It shoots every bit of 8ft. I wouldn't imagine it would feel good.

I've read that you're not supposed to keep a unit once you've discharged it. Anyone know if that's accurate?

Saber works a lot better than the stuff we used to use. We have had people sprayed three times with the old stuff. Then they take one shot of the Saber and that's it. What you want to check is how many Scolding Heat Units or SHU the spray contains. That's what really counts. But I can tell you Saber works well.
