I shoot high-power rifle. Will dabble in most any shooting competition from time to time.

had to bump

USPSA/IPSC single stack (which I hear will lose the provisional status at the first of the year), and Limited 10.

Yeah, but only when the temperatures is below 70 degrees!
Ex is our version of Punxsutawney Phil. If he comes out of his office and feels sweat developing on his brow, he will hide and that means we will have another 7 months of 90 degree weather and hurricanes.

Ex, I got overheated yesterday and left the match after 1 course of fire. Planning on staying indoors for August and only going to the SFDCC Matches on Tuesday nights. See ya in September!

You KNOW my history with the heat, Miggy. After that July shoot about ten years ago where I cleared the rifle course and then keeled over, I don't shoot the summers or early Fall in South Florida anymore. Thank the Lord we had two EMTs shooting with us that day. They got their gear from their vehicles and packed me in ice (from the drink coolers) like a mackerel at the market. The heat has nearly cost me my life three times in the military: Once at Fort Riley, Kansas (1978); once in the Desert (1983) and once in the Jungles of Panama (1986). Like pneumonia, heat stroke gets easier to get with each reoccurrence. So I don't take chances much anymore.

I HAVE been tracking the heat indexes in places where we might like to retire.

Do you know there have only been a FEW times all summer long where it's gotten barely above 81 degrees in Asheville, NC? No IDPA local there, but maybe I can START one in my retirement. I can't WAIT to get out of here. Just about three more years or so. Sooner if I can sell a script.
