We have more Washington members now, so let's hear from all of you.
Anyone know where ther is a good 1,000 yard range that isn't on a military base? Anyone on the eastside know any wheatfarmers that have a bad graydigger infestation that they would liked cleaned up? For those that may not know. Kenmore range has pistol, 300yd rifle, 22 rifle(inside), and shotgun ranges. I don't remember what the membership fees are. http://www.kenmorerange.com/ It is getting harder and harder to find a good place to practice tatical gun handling without putting out a lot of money. Anyone out there know of more ranges not redily known please let us know. |

And hey, Class3NH! I'm not only in Seattle, but I was born in New Hampshire. It's been fun seeing references to both ends of the US that I've lived (you can throw the gulf coast in there too, in MS). I'm actually in Federal Way, for any WA folks checking in. Did we ever have a G2G? I'd love to meet fellow WA CCWers, maybe learn some of the ropes of carrying here. (BTW, I remember Warshall's on 1st ave.) |

I am from Everett. I know of an outdoor range just a few miles east of Everett off of Hwy 2. I used to go and practice in Sultan basin area but it is off limits to shooters. I don't blame them they really made a mess. It looked like a dump. Now at least for the winter I go to Sams Gun Range.

I was stationed at Fort Lewis from 1980-84...does that count? Went back for a reserve exercise on North Fort in 1992. I had an apt first on Bridgeport in Tacoma and later down in Lacey. I really miss Seattle. I even had a CCW permit for WA. Cost me IIRC about $25 for a 3 year permit. Back then I could even carry on post. No rtestrictions carrying in town. Into a bar or pub, no problem. I'll bet it's different now, huh? I bought my very first 1911 45 at a small gunshop and range near Issaquah or maybe Pulyallup? It's a Remington Rand and I got it used for $415 in 1980. Still have that beauty. I carried "Betsy" for 15 years before retiring her to the safe. She's the only firearm to which I gave a name. Got the idea from a John Wayne movie: Big Jake.

Might try to get down and bring my Sig 226ST. It would be fun to do and likely in driving range from Vancouver. |

Range Info
Hi Everyone -
Checking in from the eastside of King Co. I live in Maple Valley and work in Redmond. Quote:

Wades will allow practical/tactical handling on the members only side of the range. Cost is ~$700 initiation and another ~$150 per year in maintenence. Champion Arms (Kent) will allow practical/tactical handling if you buy a yearly membership (~$250) and 'qualify' with the owner and staff. The qual was pretty easy. Twenty or so draws from concealment, no safety violations, and hit an IDPA target from 7 yds 100%. I did it with my P-32 IWB. Black Diamond Gun Club will allow tactical/practical, if you go through the the RSO program and volunteer at least 4 hours a week of 'service' on the range. Renton Fish and Game shoots IDPA on Saturdays and practices on Thursdays. Thursday is a full IDPA practice shoot, no cost that I know of, though I have only been out there a couple of times. There are probably others, but these are the ones I have first hand knowledge of... Good Luck and Shoot Straight. -Paul
