I've been a member for a while . I'm in luzerne county, and looking for places to shoot. I would not mind joining a club so I could take my kids shooting and teach them safely.

Reading PA is considered "bad"?
I have found what Pennsylvanian's perception of a "Bad Neighborhood" is VERY different from mine.

For instance in my town they call the local government housing "the Projects" and "The Ghetto".
LOL Yeah right.
They actully look like decent clean neighborhoods.
And if Im in a store or a Dr's office and a clean cut black person walks in, the peopel in teh whole entire place looks scared to death.

Its really hilarious and sad at the same time.

While Reading isn't quite as bad as Chester or Philly, it does have it's bad parts, just like Coatesville.

There are some places in the above listed where I WILL NOT go unless armed, company policy be

Most of the south eastern part of PA is becoming more...ghetto I guess, just the other day we had a shooting right around the corner from our apartment building, that and we have a good number of domestic arguements quite often. It's time to move.

Here in the peaceful suburbs of Pittsburgh this week we've had a cop beat up and put in the hospital, offender is still at large. Three guys shot the next evening in the same neighborhood, and these are supposed to be safe neighborhoods.

Don't forget the regular ole eastern parts of PA. The lehigh valley has quite the areas of crime. Downtown Allentown, south side bethlehem, south side in easton. Just a carjacking at a gas station a couple blocks off the easton square (two armed assailants steal car from couple getting gas at gas station. It is within 1 - 2 blocks of a police substation. Plus we can keep updated with the latest at

That's one thing that is starting to amaze me. As someone who lives outside of Philly, you'd think it would become better once you get out in the suburbs. The truth of the matter is many of these small towns are starting to have high crime rates and enormous illegal immigration problems. Hazelton!!
