Thumbs up Shout Out To The Educators!

The thread "What Do You DO For A Living?" gave me an idea. I'd like to know how many public or private school educators we have here on the forum. I know Doc Holiday, MYSELF and Euclidean all teach school. Okay, I'll take you if you're a school counselor or a school psychologist. I'll even accept the "enemy" who are ADMINISTRATORS. They too have a story....I guess.

I teach social studies in a high school deep in the inner city of Miami, FL. I've been a teacher...gee...almost 18 years, now. My wife has 32 years in the system. IF we can work it right, when she retires with full retirement in 3-4 years, I'll take early retirement. I was my school's pick for social studies Teacher of the Year in 2001.

I work with intellectually gifted high school students in a public school system in Tennessee...not really a teaching position, more of a guidance counselor, although my credentials are in teaching, not counseling. This marks the end of my sixteenth year.

Well...I'm not a teacher but Ive been married to one for 25 years.
She teaches History and Civics to 9th graders. Just a few days ago she got "Outstanding History Teacher" award at the state History Day Conference that was just held. Quite an honor it was.

As a result, many of my friends are teachers, and yes...most of them tote...

Like HotGuns I'm married to one. She teaches special education. I have to do the toting for now, but I'm working on her slowly. I hope she comes around soon.

I've taught engineering technology in a community college for nearly 19 years.

I teach secondary Social Studies and ESL in an urban Houston district (not HISD). So when are we going the way of Utah and getting the right to carry on campus?
