Baca County was 14 days for the inital app under the previous sheriff , and renewal under this one was same day with a deputy hand delivering me and SWMBO's permits to the house .

Adams County took 55 days.
I heard a rumor that the county has to give a portion of the application fee to the state after they issue the permit. So a lot of counties wait as long as possible so they can earn interest on the money before it goes to the state. I would not think it makes much of a difference, but thats the rumor... and I have nothing to back it up of course :)
