Florida Man Needs Indiana Info...

Hey you folks from Indiana's North country...

My son has just acquired employment in New Buffalo, MI today, and was told that he could find a decent place to live in LaPorte, IN...some of the others he will work with already live there.
He will be moving down from Michigan's North country.

Any comments about this place? Is the town OK? Any other small towns around there that would be good...or perhaps, to stay away from?
Right now he will just be renting.
Keep in mind that he has to drive to New Buffalo, MI...which will be about 16 miles.

I believe that he will find the gun laws to be more 'user friendly' in IN also...

Any and all comments, suggestions, warnings, ideas, etc., would be greatly appreciated.

No hoosier here,and please don't call me a buckeye....I have numerous kinfolk who live in that neck of the woods.Wanatah,South Wanatah,Hanna,and Union Mills are a few other small communities in the area.Sometimes you get some bad storms comming off Lake Michigan and maybe some substantial snow in the winter.I would steer clear of Gary and surrounding areas.....any questions send me a p.m. and I'll holler at one of my cousins up there.
