Nuclear Submarine Electrician here, been at it almost 8 years. I'll be looking for a civilian job in about 3 years. Looking in the north AR, MO, TN area.

1st job out of college was as a civilian nuclear engineer at GD/EB in Groton on subs.

Left that job due to disgust with dealing with Adm Hyman Rickover and his petty BS after 3 years.

Worked for Stone & Webster pushing paper for nuke plant construction. Then over to Yankee Atomic Electric as an I&C engineer for Yankee Rowe (RIP).

After TMI the political BS got too much and I quit and went into computers.

I did a Google search and found this site:

http://www.HowToBuildANuclearPowerPl...nAndProfit.com

Now I am one.

Does that count?

No need for a specific check-in.

We'll just turn off the lights, and see who glows!

Silly squirrel! Fuel glows once it's irradiated and underwater, though... it's absolutely beautiful and mesmerizing to see that cobalt glow coming from the assemblies in the spent fuel pool.

Cool picture, and I agree the Chrenkov (spelling?) radiation glow is an amazing color.

I worked in the Nuclear power industry for 11 years, got out of it, and now with it coming back into popularity, I'm going back into it after 12 years away.
