I'm in need of a location to get started in Combat Shooting (Competitions, tournaments, etc) in the Central Florida area... Anyone know a location that's not a hundred miles away?

It seems that Florida gun laws are hardly as restrictive as other states, yet we have a fraction of the ranges those states have... And granted it's due to the housing communities closing half of them - but there's gotta be some left, right? (Outdoor ones)

Try looking at IDPA or IPSIC shooting forums, i myself go once in awhile to the
tampa/ruskin area IDPAclub.

Good news.

East Orange Shooting Sports (index) does an IDPA / IPSC-esque "run and gun" shoot every Monday night at 7pm.

There are several IDPA clubs in the surrounding area. Titusville, Hernando, and others are within an hours drive, give or take, of ORlando.

In fact, Titusville has an IDPA match this Sunday at 9 am. The Titusville Rifle and Pistol Club

Depending on what part of central FL you're in there are several IPSIC and IDPA clubs around. If you're interested in the Orlando or Titusville area I could tell you some good folks to talk to.

I'm contemplating shooting in the match at Titusville on Sunday.

It will be my first actual match, so it should be interesting and educational.

I've done quite a few of the practice / informal matches at East Orange, so I think I have the general idea.
