I am not a pastor but I am a Christian. <><

I am an elder in my church. Although it probably is the most dangerous place I go during a week, I really don't feel right carrying in the house of God. While not sufficient if something happened, I do keep my gun in my car during church service. I don't have a problem with anyone else carrying and in fact we have a LEO, former special ops operator, who does carry. Given his background, which he doesn't discuss but I have learned from others, that he has been involved in several gunfights both in the military and as an LEO in Dallas, I feel pretty good about him carrying in church. We have a few other CHL holders who also carry in church.

I just found this thread. I am a Christian too. I carry because I have a duty under the Lord to protect my family and my neighbors from harm.

I Am A Christian...And I Carry In Church...

And if the need shoudl arise that I shoot a BG while he/she is trying to carjack me or mine...I shall say a prayer for the misguided fool after he hits the ground.

I was in small boat missions for about 8 years and also the associate pastor of a boat based church working with live aboard and cruising sailors for several years.

Church involvement is very limited these days because of caring for wife with advanced multiple sclerosis. Still run a small missions operation in the south pacific aiding churches with Bibles (Did you know there are still countries with almost no Bibles? Even the pastors have none.) and providing aid to widows and orphans. You know, just like it says in the Bible!!!

I'm a Sunday School teacher and am involved in every aspect of Vacation Bible School and I pack.

I also know a pastor at another church that packs in the pulpit.

I guess I ought to bump this thread to the top about once per week so that those who have missed it can see it and post. Thanks to Texas Yankee, lowflyer, retsupt99, ELCruisr, and Invisible for taking the time to tell us a little bit about themselves.

Thanks, flip_floppin. Okay that settles it. I'm definitely going to be bumping this thread once a week. Everytime it gets to the top we get several new posts from people who have missed it previously. Thanks everyone for posting here. It let's those of us who share a faith in Jesus and opportunity to make ourselves know to others of the faith without getting involved in a discussion that doesn't fit in with the design of CombatCarry.
