Captain Ray
Thank you for the kind welcome. I hope I didn't rub any of you the wrong way.. Yesterday I may have consumed more alcohol than a normal person can take in and still behave normally!!!

The good news is that I did not drive an automobile, or handle a firearm.. the bad news is that my woman is REALLY mad at me, and I managed to insult several friends.. and I spilled my drink on the carpet, and my stomach doesn't feel right.. and.. well.. I kind of made an ass of myself.

Sorry fellas..

Actually, Raymond, there are at least two posts prior to this one that came from moderators that did not include even a word of warning. P95Carry's message said, "Hi Ray-" and mine said "Greetings from Alabama." This board is made up of people who want to learn from other members and share what they have learn with other. When you become a member of this board and go to the New Members Introduce Yourself forum the first thing you see is a sticky thread entitled, "Leave your attitudes at the door." Even if you don't read it the title informs you of how this board operates. Because you saw that title and chose to deliberately start your membership here by boasting about being banned from other boards you displayed an attitude that we do not tolerate here.

We do not ban people lightly. We realize that sometimes all of us get too much into the moment and go beyond what is normally allowed here. When that happens one of our moderators will send a PM to the guilty party advising them that they have stepped over the boundry and requesting that it not happen again. At that point the ball is in the member's court. He can accept the mild correction and demonstrate that he is an honorable person by observing the rules as he agreed to when he joined. Or the person can continue to violate the rules and demonstrate that he not only not only will do obey the rules, but that he is not an honorable person who's word is good. If anyone, moderator or member, takes that second route he will be banned. Not because anyone dislikes him, but because he has deliberately set about to violate our rules and his honor. If a person is banned from CombatCarry the person banned has only one place to put the blame and that is on himself. We have a great place here and Bumper and all the moderators are determined to keep it that way. If that requires removing someone from membership then so be it.

This board is a body and when a cancer gets into a body it is excised from that body so that the body might live. When someone becomes disruptive of the peace of the body of CC he is first treated with radiation therapy - a warning. If the radiation does not excise the cancer then the moderators perform surgery and cut the cancerous member out of the body. This is not a pleasant task, but it is not one from which any of us shrink. Just as with a cancer in the body the earlier we catch it the less trouble it will cause.

You have told us that your disruptive actions of yesterday were caused by consuming too much alcohol. We have accept this and are starting you off with a clean slate. I want to give you two small pieces of advice that will serve you in good stead if you want to be a member of this community. 1) You have had your warning, don't step out of line again too soon. Allow us to get to know you. Demonstrate that you really want to be a part of this community and we will forget about your starting off on the wrong foot. 2) Don't post on this board if you have had too much to drink. We have accepted this explanation once. Don't expect it to work again.

If you will join in with discussions and post good, well thought out comments you will find us to be a very accepting and caring group. It is my hope that you will soon become a valued member of the CC community. But a word to the wise is sufficient: If you become disruptive none of the moderators here will hesitate for a second before banning you. We don't like to do it, but like the surgeon we will do what is necessary to save a life.

I know.. and once again... I appologize. I came with an attitude.. and I made an ass of myself. Now that I have sobered up, I think I was not being nearly as funny as I thought I was being. NO excuses.. and my appology is heartfelt. I was being dumb..

Hey, Ray, what say we start this welcome stuff fresh. I'll pretend you just joined and the only messages I have seen are your last 4 you posted.

Raymond, welcome to the forum. We have a great community here and I'm sure you'll come to enjoy it as much as we do.

By the way, the avatar picture was taken by my wife in 1999. She entered in a contest and though it did not win it was published in a coffee table book called Symphony of Color. He was a stray that we adopted. When we found him he had mange so bad that his left ear was one big scab and his tail looked more like a rats tail - it was almost hairless. Vet said he would probably never have hair on his left ear- wrong. He grew a beautiful coat and more than one asked us if he was the same dog they had seen before. He was a great dog. Unfortunately, he apparently got into some drug dealers stash and ingested some crack. The stuff killed him. I wasn't sure my wife would ever get over that. It took some time and a brother of her's who found a yellow lab that needed a home.

Have a great day.
