Hi from Kansas

I just dropped off my app today. Permit should be in the mail sometime in Jan 07. KS is new to the CCW thing. I plan to carry something small in .45 ACP.

Welcome, lowflyer...

Sounds like you have plenty of time to research the various .45 models (this site will be a good place to start... )

Hi lowflyer -

Yep - some browsing here and the time to spare should get you well on the way to an informed decision for your carry piece.

Welcome aboard!
Your permit takes over 5mths ...WOW
I like full sized 1911s and don't much like the smaller ones. Maybe try a Glock 30 ...10 + 1 and quite concealable.

The CCH law was only recently passed. The wait for a permit is not what it will take once they get the system in place; it is when they will begin to issue permits and establish reciprocity.

Currently, I shoot a Kimber Classic Stainless Target in .45 ACP. I practice carrying it around the house with a Galco SOB 212. I have been thinking SIG 220, XD 45, and/or Glock 21. For compacts, I like the G30 and the Kimber CDP II. So many choices.... I have until 21 October to make up my mind since that is when the Tulsa gun show takes place.
