Hello from North East Texas
Hello all,
A friend told me about this sight. I started out going to PDO, but honestly some of the posts on there are just plain nuts. Makes me wonder if they should give mental evaluations before giving permits to carry. So far this sight appears to be a well monitored and reasonable place for discussion and good opinions, info, ect. I hope it stays this way, and we all can learn or at least understand where others stand on issues, and why. NE Texas is a more laid back calmer portion of the country not very fast paced, not much crime, but some. I got my CHL a couple of years ago after a guy stole my wife's purse out of her van while in the driveway. She had brought our infant son inside the house and went back out to get the purse and other stuff, saw the guy and ran out and chased him off (with the purse of course). All you married men can go ahead and admitt it, if your wife caught you doing this and was on a rant after you, you would run too, lol. We got everything back except the cash, after a guy at a car wash called and told her he found her purse. She did get his license plate number so I saved the LEO's some time by making a visit to his house and encouraging his mother to report to the local police station and do the right thing. She did, and he is now on probation. I think the mom's being on parole probably was a factor in making her son take responsibility for his actions. Anyway, they did what was the right thing, after the fact, and hopefully that will be the only lesson needed for that young man. I am hoping that is the last time we have any dealings with crime, but if not I figured it doesn't hurt to at least take some precautions. Anyway, I am looking forward to hearing what some of the rest of you have to say about some of the issues and things we all wonder about from time to time.
