Name change for 0.02

It's me, 0.02.

I changed my name and wanted to mention it here so there would be no confusion.

Two reasons, firstly when I joined I was skeptical (paranoid) about revealing my true identity on a gun board, I hadn't had good experiences on forums previously and didn't want to be identifiable here. Well, you guys are amazing, I'm happy to use my actual name here. I even started a thread not long after I joined about being cautious on the web and hiding your identity, I don't feel that way now, I'm not going to post my address but I'm happy to use my name.

Secondly, as 0.02 I got myself confused at times when people would mention .02 in a post, the worst one was when someone mentioned .02 BAC and I got really confused... I don't confuse too easily but being 0.02 was a tough one at times. If you don't believe me change your name to YMMV or BG and see how you get on.

Ok, so it's still me, no welcomes necessary, more of the same 'far too long' posts and no smilies...

Pete.

That is going to take some getting used to. Just don't change your avatar

Welcome, Pete!

Kidding. I too am pretty darned paranoid about my name being out on the net. I think there are only a handful of people (the moderators and my husband) who know my real name on here.

Congrats on the new name.

I didn't even notice because you didn't change your avatar. You could have thrown us all for a loop by changing both and everyone would have wondered where in the world 0.02 went and who where this Pete came from with such a high post count.

Oh man, that was the funniest thing...

I can't even half-mention it without worrying that it will all flare up again and someone else will get bent over it, I didn't at the time BTW, it's just the best misunderstanding ever.

Actually there's a funny story about my Mom's maiden name, and as I don't use it for any password it's fine to share.
My Mom was born with the surname Betty. Yes, Betty is a last name in parts of England, I always joke it comes from the French 'Bête' meaning beast.
Anyway, she had a brother - he was in the Armed Forces as a paratrooper, he was Sgt. Betty.

Nobody ever gave him so much as a smirk as soon as he made rank...
