Greetings from Tampa,Fl.

Hello to all, and I'm new to the forums. I'm in the process of waiting for my FL. CCW (Takes forever) to be completed, and mailed back to me.. I would like advice if it's a good thing to buy your first pistol from a gun show? I'm kinda torn, or if I should go to a local dealer.. If this is in the wrong forum, I'm sorry..

Welcome from Middle Tennessee!

Why not buy from a local dealer at the gun show? Here in Tennessee, the local FFL dealers often offer "gun-show specials"--I bet they might in Florida, too. Good luck with whatever you decide, and stay safe!

Welcome from Colorado!

Yes, it's OK to buy from a licensed FFL at a gun show. You could do the same with a private seller, but you have to be careful either way. Inspect the gun very carefully. Most dealers will at least stand behind the sale if something doesn't work, albeit for a very short time.

Welcome to the forum.

This is definitely the right forum. There is nothing wrong with buying from a gunshow. You can probably find a good deal there. If you don't know much about firearms, take a knowledgeable friend if you can.

welcome from vt.
I would personally get a carry gun from a dealer just in case it had something wrong with it. If there is a dealer at the show, go for it!
