Hello from Oklahoma, via Texas, Ohio, Pennsylvania and upstate NY.
I am a retired (July '03) manufacturing supervisor, a private pilot with an IRF rating, married 40 + years (Sept 1, '67) to the same woman with one son and 2 grandsons. We built our 2 story home ourselves on 15 acres of woodland in central Oklahoma. I grew up in upstate New York on a dairy farm in the Adirondacks, spent 7 years in the Army from 1966 to 1973. I have been an NRA life member since 1974. I reload with a RCBS Rock Chucker I have had since 1964 and have a 50 yd target range with a berm and a benchrest on the front porch and a rest at 7 yds for pistol.
We put out corn for deer and dogfood for raccoons. They come daily and allow us to sit on the front porch while they are in the yard. The deer will approach to within 20 feet and the raccoon sometimes come upon the porch while we are there. I have had my CCW permit for 2 years and carry a Kahr CW9 IWB or in my pocket and a 2 1/2" Smith & Wesson 686 for OWB carry. My wife carries a SP101 2 1/4" 357. My favorite long gun is a Savage 110. I have 3 barrels I switch out on it for different shooting requirements. A 30-06, a 25-06 and a 22/250. I break the barrel nut loose, remove the barrel. Then with a head space gage install another barrel and lock the barrel nut. If I replaced the bolt face I could use cartridges that are not based on the 30-06 cartridge. The switch takes 20 - 30 minutes. I have owned 22 motorcycles with the latest being a Suzuki S50. |
