Lived in Ames for 8 years, almost 40 years ago. You might want to consider relocating out of Iowa to find the CS job you are looking for.

I've been considering moving to Nevada. I don't know what the job market is like there but it probably isn't worse than here and quite a few things about the state appeal to me.
