New from Ohio
My wife and I are waiting on our concealed carry licenses to be issued any day now by our County Sheriff. We have not carried, nor do we intend to do so, until we are legal. For years, Ohio has had a hodge-podge of confusing and contradictory carry laws, but those were recently updated by our relatively new Democratic Governor and state legislators. For once, they did something enlightening. Unusual for politicians, who only seem to know how to raise our taxes.
On September 11 of 2008, a new piece of legislation adopting our form of the "Castle Doctrine" will become effective, giving Ohioans at least a presumption of an ability to defend ourselves in our homes and cars without fear of a frivolous lawsuit being filed by some stupid criminal's family. Looking forward to learning from this site, and other forums addressing this issue. Hope I can positively contribute on occasion. |
