Hi all, I'm retired, living in (very) rural So. Illinois. We're so far back in the woods that they have to pipe sunshine to us. We do have all of the modern amenities like central heat and a/c but I prefer to heat with a modern wood stove. That being the case, I spend most of my time cutting, splitting and stacking firewood. There's plenty of it here, free for the cutting. Our alternative is a 500 gal. propane tank. At roughly the same price as gasoline, the wood seems like a no brainer. It also gives me exercise and keeps me busy.

Here in our state, only criminals and gang bangers carry guns. We don't like it that way but the state seems to be run by the "uber libs" who control the entire Chicago and surrounding area. I own a home in Mexico also. That's the only place that's more restrictive regarding guns that I've ever lived in. There too, the criminals and drug cartels seem to manage to stay armed, keeping the law abiding citizens at their mercy (a figure of speech as they have no mercy).

I'm just wondering if there's any move afoot, considering the latest Supreme Court rulings, to bring some 2nd amendment justice and sanity to Illinois?

At any rate, I was told about this forum by a friend so I'll be interested to read what you're all about here.

The "moves" are absolutely being made to ram the Heller decision right up the tailpipe of the most-restrictive places in the country, yes. But given what's at stake, it's unsurprising we've heard little so far. (That, and the fact that the Chicago Sun Times has essentially trashed the links to all its anti-Heller articles and articles about Daley's post-Heller comments on the anticipated impact against Chicago's prohibitions.)

A search on the NRA ILA web site can show you the most that NRA is willing to publicize on the web. Most articles come up to 2007 only, with little since the Heller decision. Only a few other articles can be found, here and there, beyond musings on discussion forums. My guess is: a big legal push is being mounted. We'll see.

Keep contacting your legislators. They're the only hope at crushing the anti-2A wave in Illinois.
