You'd be better off with the lanyard. In your hand is too close to most definitions of brandishing.

Hmm, good question. 99% of the time I'm CC. The only time that I have OC has been out on the farm. Time and place thing. Don't want to have the sheep qawking and, well, I don't trust them to know that I have a gun.

Agreed. But it may depend on the situation I am in. 80% CC...20% OC

I live in Va... and I OC daily.
I switch back and forth between my S&W M21-4 Thunder Ranch in a Galco Silhouette and my RIA 1911 Tactical in a Bianchi Carrylok.
My wife OCs her Taurus M445 .44 special and her High Standard 1911 compact.
I see OC as a deterrent, and I also see no need to hide the fact that I am exercising my RKBA.

I open carry during the warm sunny summer days, but have considered getting a duty type holster that will allow me to tuck my coat behind the holster, and open carry that way during the winter. Having layers of clothing on can really slow the draw time. For now I will just carry concealed.

Open Carry when I want to because I can. Concealed when I want to because I can. Not because of what someone else might think.
